Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida celebrates its second day with the Spring/Summer 2023 proposals of a selection of established designers, among which there are also new talents. The ExpoMeloneras venue, home of GCSW by MC, was visited by both the general public and professionals from the swimwear sector, consolidating, once again this year, the excellent number of visitors to the event.
The Canarian firm Diazar kicked off the second day of fashion shows. This was followed by the fashion shows of the Italian firm Edelvissa, All that she Loves, Alawa, the Danish firm Copenhagen Cartel, and the Canarian firm Sanjuan. Then it was the turn of the German firm Anekdot and Gonzales. Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, always faithful to her appointment with the Gran Canarian catwalk, was in charge of closing this second day of fashion shows. In front-row, influencers Marta Lozano, Teresa Andrés Gonzalvo, Carla Barber, among others, enjoyed the fashion shows of local designers San Juan, Gonzales and Diazar. Among the Canarian influencers, Priscilla Betancourt, Yaiza Mencía and Gema Betancor, who have been in the parades of All That She Loves, the Italian firm Edelvissa, the Danish Copenaghen Cartel and the German firm Anekdot. On the catwalk, fashion references such as the models Lorena Durán, Guiomar Alfaro, Elvira García and Yurima Santana.
As for the fashion shows, the day began at 4 p.m. with Born this Way, the most vindictive collection by the designer Diazar, inspired by the origins of the social movement of the LGBTQ+ collective's struggle for their rights. Edelvissa, meanwhile, presented a collection inspired by nature using fabrics that are made entirely with high-tech and ecological 100% Made in Italy. In addition, at 5 p.m. Blue Submarine, the collection of All That She Loves, presented swimwear and beachwear pieces animated with a vibrant palette of intense colours. At 6 p.m. Alawa presented the Féminine collection, with which it wanted to pay tribute to women, focusing on one of the most characteristic features of its house: femininity.
The Danish firm Cartel Copenhagen showed its collection as a reminder to everyone of the importance of protecting the oceans. At 19h San Juan has staged his collection inspired by the colours and silhouettes of the jungle with transparent fabrics arranged in different layers and drawing organic textures. At 20h the German Anekdot presented its collection based on the story of the rose that blooms at night, grows by its own light, with powdered pink petals and a living heart. Gonzales opened the last double fashion show of the afternoon with his collection Al Azar. This proposal leads us towards the random, fortuitous or casual, which does not obey any method or criterion and whose result is always unknown and unexpected. And as the finishing touch to the second day, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada was in charge of the closing ceremony. For this edition, Agatha has designed a collection that she defines as "the collection that I am most excited about this year, a super Agatha collection for the best organised catwalk in the world".
