Gran Canaria Swim Week is the only professional fashion week for swimwear in Europe, promoted by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria since 1996. It has grown exponentially to reach more than 373 million people.
Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida is the only professional fashion week specialising in swimwear in Europe, promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. During the days of fashion shows, a selection of Gran Canarian (Canary Islands), national and international brands present their exclusive swimwear and intimate collections.
Gran Canaria Moda Cálida is a programme of action in the fashion textile sector on the island, created and promoted by the Department of Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. Fashion is, for this Institution, a growing sector with possibilities of industrial expansion and Gran Canaria Moda Cálida becomes the framework in which designers and companies support their projects.
Since 1996, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida has been an integral plan for the textile sector. As an industrial policy measure, it aims to strengthen the weak points of the textile industry, such as the improvement of business management, product policy, promotional activities, exports and training aspects, with the international swimwear fashion week Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida , which is held in October, as its main standard-bearer.
Since 2017, The Department of Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria is advised by the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), of which it has been an associated institution. In 2022, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida joins EFA (European Fashion Alliance) as a founding member.
