Fashion professionals and swimwear trend followers gather in Maspalomas. A new edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida kicks off, full of novelties and new talent. The Cabildo de Gran Canaria and IFEMA Madrid have reaffirmed their firm commitment to the internationalisation and professionalisation of the only swimwear fashion show in Europe.

Today, Dolores Cortés and Bohodot inaugurated the catwalk. Then, the Canary Islands firm Maldito Sweet unveiled its proposals for next summer. Later, it was the turn of the Colombian firm Mola Mola. Afterwards, the public was able to see the proposals of Victoria Cimadevilla, the British Alexandra Miró and Nuria González. The end of the day came with the parade of two international firms, Gottex from Israel and the British Melissa Odabash, in charge of closing this inaugural day.

Following the fashion shows from the front row, opinion leaders such as Carla Barber, Priscilla Betancort, Marta Ibrahim, Yaiza Mencía and Gema Betancor helped to amplify the visibility of the shows by sharing their experience at GCSW by MC with their respective digital communities under the hashtag #grancanariaswimweekbymc.

OPENING DAY FASHION SHOWS

Dolores Cortés presented Phuket, a collection dominated by wild flora and the mysterious charm of Asian landscapes. The Bohodot brand has stood out by evoking summers on the coast and transmitting a Mediterranean essence. The Spring Summer 2023 collection by the Canary Islands firm Maldito Sweet is inspired by Tulum. The international Mola Mola brings its proposals from Colombia, and its collection is inspired by the pastel-coloured boulevards of small beach towns. Victoria Cimadevilla reinterprets the concept of the woman-flower initiated in the 50s and takes it to the world of swimwear. British Alexandra Miró has landed in Gran Canaria to present a collection full of summer trends. Canarian designer Nuria González presented her Antropokini collection, which invites us to take a stroll through her culture as a designer and her homeland. Israel's Gottex has opted to launch two new collections that complement each other Au Naturel and Luma, with a contemporary feel. British designer Melissa Odabash's closing collection features a selection of iconic and best-selling styles as well as cutting-edge new shapes.
