2020-10-23
Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida welcomes its second day at ExpoMeloneras (Maspalomas), co-organised by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and IFEMA. Today it was the turn of the fashion shows of the established designers, who were accompanied by Guillermina Baeza, an exceptional guest.
TCN was the firm in charge of opening the catwalk. The day continued with double shows by Chela Clo and Diazar, first, and then Bannana Moon and Livia. The afternoon continued with the fashion show by Guillermina Baeza, followed by the double fashion show by Carlos San Juan and Gottex. Finally, and closing the day, the Aurelia Gil fashion show took place.

The firm TCN, a world reference in the beachwear universe, was in charge of opening the catwalk today with an individual fashion show that marked its return to Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida after several editions. TCN is committed to a collection faithful to its origins and its characteristic lifestyle: a boho chic without stridency that is identified by its style and its characteristic "no se que rien". Sant Remy is the common thread of the Spring-Summer TCN 2021 collection. Provence and its lavender fields are the protagonists of a story of unique and unrepeatable moments where the TCN woman dresses for an ethereal and light summer.
The day continued with the double fashion show by Chela Clo and Diazar. The former presented her collection "Discordant Retro Vibes", which embraces current trends in New York youth fashion inspired by the 90s. Asymmetrical tie dye fades and the abstract shapes of terrazzo and marble inspire Chela Clo's Spring-Summer 2021 collection. Diazar, for his part, has chosen black as the leitmotiv of the collection. The compositional elements that make up the proposal of the collection "The New Black, by Diazar" are based on concepts linked to a dark chromatic range with nuances.
The evening continued with Guillermina Baeza, an exceptional guest, who presented a collection born of the magic of Tangiers. The colours evoke nature: the blues are reminiscent of the sea, and the oranges, ecru and mauves of a sunset at the Haffa café. The memory of the scent of orange blossom mixed with that of spices, paint the earthy colours with golden sparkles.
Later in the day, it was the turn of Carlos San Juan and Gottex. To design his collection, the designer explored the way in which tensile cables manage to hold up the most spectacular structures, while at the same time endowing them with extraordinary beauty. Gottex presented a collection with novel techniques, avant-garde shapes and a variety of new textures and soft fabrics.
Aurelia Gil was in charge of closing the day's fashion shows with a collection full of spectacular looks and garments made of tulle, which dress the swimwear proposals with fantasy. The designer presented, on the one hand, pure looks without artifice with swimwear as the protagonist; and on the other hand, totally structured looks that use the swimwear piece as a base on which to create a formal look.
